He built a dipole between the bell tower and an old oak, tuned it with scrap copper and patience. His logbooks mark convoy paths, flooded roads, and repeaters that still breathe. The camp learned to trust his voice at dusk, calm and plain, counting down to lights out. He taught three people to run the board and keep the generator sipping fuel. He argues with Jack about risk, then helps load the wagon anyway. Spring brought raiders who spoofed survivor calls. Alvarez answered with codes and simple challenges he taught over the net. When the church gets quiet, he prays for clear frequencies and steady hands. When it gets loud, he puts on the headset and starts the count.
Nice to see ya here.
